Frankfurt is the city of Anne Frank ... and the Rothschild family, just to mention a few   prominent names. Especially here in Frankfurt you can learn how tragic the history of  the jews was, this is the focal point of this tour. Documentary evidence of the first jewish   community in this city goes back to the 12th century. Approximately 350 years later a  ghetto was established. The museum "Judengasse" (Jewish lane) illustrates the living   conditions at that time. Here you can have a look at the foundations of  houses in the  ghetto as well as a mikwe, a jewish ritual bath. The walking tour leads through the ancient   city centre, the memorial "Neuer Börneplatz" and the cemetery in Battonstr. (Museum is closed in Monday, the cemetery is not always accessible) walking tour duration: approx. 1,5 hours
